Overview

The Bachelor of Business Administration in Supply Chain Management (SCM) is offered by the Department of Statistics, Operations, and Data Science. The major is complemented by our student professional organization and our advisory board to share industry best practices from the leaders in the market; these experiences introduce and acquaint students with the variety of jobs and responsibilities in supply chain management and help students identify areas of interest for their careers.

The SCM major provides opportunities for students to learn about supply chain management in an integrated business framework from distinguished faculty and regional industry experts in the area of supply chain management. A key feature of this major is that it provides students with individualized career and academic advising. The SCM faculty also work with the Center for Student Professional Development (CSPD). When taken together, students stay connected with the regional industry associations, leaders, alumni and corporate partners to prepare them for their future challenges upon entering the work force.

Supply chain managers hold careers in forecasting and demand planning, strategic procurement, transportation management, inventory management, supply chain analytics, operations, and international trade, to name a few. They are under constant pressure to ensure a steady supply of materials in a world full of disruptions, and they must do so with sustainability in mind. Our curriculum includes classes in operations, logistics, analytics, project management and lean supply chain, to name a few. We also encourage and value internship experience, and our position in the Philadelphia area provides many rich opportunities. Courses balance theory and practice in supply chain management to bridge the gap between academic and business practices. Fox's business core positions our supply chain management majors to think critically about every facet of a business process, as SCM professionals must work across disciplines, interacting with nearly every department in an organization.

The SCM major requires a high level of quantitative analysis, critical thinking and problem-solving skills; students with an overall GPA of 2.75 or more are recommended to enroll in the major.
