Overview
The 5-year Bachelor's degree in the Biology major and Master of Medical Science (MMS) is a combined program between the College of Science and Technology and the Lewis Katz School of Medicine.
The program is designed for high-achieving students. Students must apply through the Office of Pre-Professional Health Advising.
Student must meet the admissions requirement for early admission to the Lewis Katz School of Medicine Physician Assistant Program. If interested in applying to other schools, students will need to follow a 4+ option.

Guidelines for Completion of the Bachelor's Degree in the College of Science and Technology
- Bachelor's degree candidates in the College of Science and Technology (CST) must complete all requirements for the major before entering the Physician Assistant Program at the Lewis Katz School of Medicine (LKSOM) with the exception of the following:
- Biology majors may count the following three first year LKSOM Physician Assistant Program courses as Biology electives:
- CST students may count up to 33 equivalent credit hours from the first year at the LKSOM Physician Assistant Program as equivalents of upper-level or overall total credits within CST, the College of Liberal Arts (CLA), and/or the College of Engineering (ENG).
- Appropriate course sequences for the Biology major offered by CST will be available in the Center for Academic Advising and Professional Development (Tuttleman Learning Center, Suite 111) or Pre-Professional Health Advising (Mitten Hall, Suite 110) and will be shared with prospective and current students.
Academic Plan
Individual academic plans will vary based on previous course work, AP credits, performance on University placement assessments, and the specific undergraduate major. Students who qualify for the 3+2 program will develop an individual academic plan with their CST Academic Advisor and Pre-Professional Health Advisor during their first year at the University.
