About the Certificate
The Graduate Certificate in Drug Discovery in the School of Pharmacy at Temple University provides current pharmaceutical professionals and pharmacy students the opportunity to enhance their credentials and skills in drug discovery. Industry employers actively seek candidates who have an understanding of the processes involved in drug discovery.
Drug discovery involves the research process that identifies new therapies and delivers them to clinical trials. The process comprises multiple stages including target identification, hit identification, lead optimization and preclinical testing. Multiple scientific disciplines such as molecular biology, genetics, chemistry, molecular modeling and bioinformatics are employed to advance novel therapies capable of improving patient outcomes.
Time Limit for Certificate Completion: 3 years
Campus Location: Online, asynchronous and synchronous
Full-Time/Part-Time Status: The certificate may be completed on a part-time basis.
Admission Requirements and Deadlines
Application Deadline:
Fall admissions, with a deadline of July 30. Interested students should contact the School of Pharmacy for permission to enroll in coursework.

Bachelor's Degree in Discipline/Related Discipline: Applicants must meet the following requirements: BS degree in a related field (e.g., pharmaceutical sciences, chemistry, biology, math, chemical engineering or biochemistry) from an accredited institution
