MIIM 8320. Microbiology and Graduate Seminar. 1 Credit Hour.

Graduate students present before the Department. Two semester hours are required for M.S. students and 4 semester hours for Ph.D. students in Microbiology. Required for all Microbiology and Immunology graduate students.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may be repeated for additional credit.

MIIM 9305. Molecular Immunology. 2 Credit Hours.

Lectures, student presentations and discussions of topics in molecular immunology, including T-cell receptors, tumor antigens, structure, organization and rearrangement of immunoglobulin genes, signal transduction and cytokines.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may not be repeated for additional credits.

MIIM 9306. Neuroimmunopharmacology. 2 Credit Hours.

An interdisciplinary course that explores pathways, receptors, and mediation connecting the neural and immune systems.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may not be repeated for additional credits.

MIIM 9991. Research. 1 Credit Hour.

Research course (one semester) for students who have taken and passed the Preliminary Examination, but have not had Dissertation Proposal approved and have not been elevated to Candidacy.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may be repeated for additional credit.

MIIM 9994. Preliminary Examination Preparation. 1 to 5 Credit Hour.

The student prepares for the preliminary examination required for elevation to Ph.D. candidacy.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may be repeated for additional credit.

MIIM 9996. Master's Thesis. 1 to 9 Credit Hour.

Registration for this course occurs in the semester in which the student will defend a Master's Thesis (mandatory registration) in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of the University.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may be repeated for additional credit.

MIIM 9998. Post-Candidacy Research. 1 to 6 Credit Hour.

Research course for students who have passed Preliminary Examination and have had both Dissertation Proposal and Candidacy approved.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.

Repeatability: This course may be repeated for additional credit.

MIIM 9999. Dissertation Writing. 1 to 6 Credit Hour.

Registration for this course occurs in the semester in which the student will defend [Dissertation Defense] (mandatory registration) in accordance with the Policies and Procedures of the University.

Level Registration Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Levels: Graduate.
Student Attribute Restrictions: Must be enrolled in one of the following Student Attributes: Dissertation Writing Student.
